Nuqman's New Bed.

Nuqman has a new bed! Yay!

Before this, he always sleeps with his Papa and Mama on the big bed. But every night, without fail, he must complete his nightly routine. Wrestling with us on the bed. Well more with his Papa than me. But still, I always get in the way, and he will always find a way to involve me in the kicking and punching sport that he adores so much, only in the bed. Because the bed is very springy, he enjoys jumping up and down the bed while giving us a good blow along the way. After exhausting himself, he will finally sleep...

But I am so used to having him sleep in my arms that having to part with him at night now makes me a little sad. Nuqman is ok about it, I think. But I realized that it’s still kinda hard for me to let go. His Papa said, this is more about training his Mama to learn to let go, not Nuqman. Sigh... I think it’s true in a way.

However, his bed is still in our room! So I can check on him anytime I want during the night. We’re taking baby steps. Not giving him a room of his own yet, it's too soon. We will both be in shock, separated, his Mama  and him. First, the bed. Maybe in a year or two, his own room.

At least he is very excited with his new bed. It has Transformers on the headboard. Very boyish kind of bed. So he still can use it when he goes to kindergarten.... So it can be used for all time.

My baby boy is all grown up...

Happy 2nd Birthday Nuqman!

2 years old... That’s how old my baby is now...

Although his Papa has forbidden me to call him “baby”, it’s still on the tip of my tongue every time he comes running into my arms, giving me that lopsided grin and calling out “Mama”!

We finally had a birthday made for him, since his first birthday wasn’t even a grand one, this sure makes up for it...

Man, and how he had FUN!!! It was like seeing him born all over again, the joy that I felt, the happiness swelling up inside of me, and the warm feeling that covered me like a blanket on a chilly winter day. Throughout the whole day, his smile covered his face from ear to ear, knowing it’s his special day.

He helped out with the balloons with his Papa, trying to pop them as well. All the food were homemade. We made Bakso (It was my first time cooking it), Deela made Meehun, my mom made Nasi Impit with Lontong, Kuah Kacang and Daging Deng Deng to go with it, we also made Kari Ayam and Pulut Kuning... not to mention the sweet delicacies. There were jellies, cupcakes, and a friend made them. And candies galore! We didn’t get any hard candies though, wouldn’t be responsible parents then.

The cutting of the cake ceremony was absolutely perfect! Nuqman couldn’t keep his eyes of his Chuggington cake though, wondering when he was ever going to get the chance to cut it. And when he did, he was cringing in pain, as if Wilson the cake felt it... It was kinda hilarious to see him crying for his cake, thinking he had hurt it...
His friends came from all over, all of his “Playground” friends came by and enjoyed the party together with him. His second cousins came, friends from afar. Nuqman is truly a lucky boy to have so many friends.

Even though it rained heavily for a while, we all know that it was because God blessed the day. Cool breeze swept through the whole party giving a relaxed and peaceful mood.

By the end of the day, all his presents were opened. He loved every bit of them! Especially his Chuggington presents! Mummy D gave him a Chuggington bag. Totally awesome!

Ahmad Nuqman, I love you so much with all my heart, with every breath in my body. You are my soul, and I am proud that you have grown to become a clever, brave and loving boy! Happy 2nd birthday my darling!
